The Future of Prism — Part 2: Bridge Expansions
Part 4 — Cross Chain Smart Contract Interactions
Prism Network aims to be a hub for cross-chain transfers. The more networks that are connected to Prism Network, the greater the value of this project will be. Users will have an ever-expanding amount of flexibility in what network they move their value between and due to the supply of PRISM being constant across all networks the token will be stretched out more and more. This will lead to an ongoing supply shock as liquidity providers look to purchase PRISM for each new network with the aim of harvesting their share of the cross-chain volume between these networks. By connecting as many networks as possible we also aim to make Prism Network valuable in that you will be able to transfer directly between all connected networks rather than having to use multiple bridges to get from/to your desired network.
As of the time of writing this article, Prism Network includes several of the more popular EVM networks within it, allowing for transfers between:
- Ethereum Mainnet
- Binance Smart Chain
- Polygon
- Fantom
- Avalanche
Development is currently ongoing to add even more EVM networks into Prism Network, including:
- xDai
- Arbitrum
- Optimism
- OKEx
- HECO
- Tomochain
- CRO Chain
- Harmony
In addition, Prism Network is aiming to continue our goal of connecting networks together including those that are non-EVM such as:
- Cardano
- Solana
- Polkadot
We hope to continuously add more networks into Prism Network. Ultimately, the end goal is to link as many networks & blockchains together in a way that provides value for developers and is user friendly for traders & investors. If there is community demand for it we are more than happy to add any requested networks!
At Prism Network we do not aim for a monopoly in this space, which is neither feasible nor desirable. The more bridges that are available for users to pick from the better it is for the entire system. Not only is having a choice of bridges to pick from good for decentralisation and reducing the threat of having a singular point of attack for malicious entities, healthy competition breeds better protocols for both the developers behind them and the users. We hope to work together with other platforms and projects in coming together to deliver real interoperability for the crypto space in the pursuit of building a truly decentralised future.
