What is Prism Network ?

The Biggest Issue Plaguing DeFi..

Prism Network has highlighted a number of potential issues that have been plaguing the #DeFi space for a while. And it is causing serious harm to both new and existing projects as well as serious harm to contributors and community members of those projects. As we all know there is a huge trust issue in the space with:

Bad actors and incompetent developers scamming their communities out of millions of dollars in crypto assets leaving communities and projects vulnerable, and in disarray. We have lost count at the number of projects who have been forced to shut down due to their development teams being incompetent, or just down right scams.
One major issue is where a project manager will hire anonymous developers to build their smart-contracts. Only to wake up to missing funding, or the entire liquidity of the project stolen (what we call a rug) leaving the entire build in tatters and their community burned and in disarray.
Another major issue has been incompetent and farcical developers who pretend to have skills and knowledge in smart-contract infrastructure deploying sub standard code and contracts and getting users funds and assets stuck in contracts. Basically lying about their skill sets just to either capitalise on a project teams lack of experience in the space and pretending to be someone they are not.
Expanding on the above point, basic trivial bugs in code that were overlooked due to people just forking from open libraries, and not doing their due diligence in extensive testing and de-bugging of the contracts they are using. Leaving the codebase and platform open to a wide range of serious issues, critical bugs, and huge exploits.

The truth is, Anybody can say they are a developer. But are they ? It’s very easy to make a claim that your a developer under an anonymous online alter-ego on platforms like telegram, Fiver, and upwork. In essence, these platforms have become a breeding ground for scammers to falsely identify themselves as legitimate developers, leaving unsuspecting projects ripe for the picking. Most scams are well thought through. And as much as it pains us to say, pretending to be a developer in crypto is basically one of the easier ways to make money online since the invention of the internet.
